Summary

This paper distinguishes accepted correction from effective correction and proposes temporal adequacy as a risk-bounded test of whether human authority over consequential personal state still reaches the materially consequential reliance paths that remain.

validity → effectiveness → invalidation → revalidation → retirement → remedy → temporal adequacy

What the paper does not claim

  • Correction is not deletion.
  • It states no universal descendant-update obligation.
  • It states no universal synchronization mandate.
  • It does not require automatic reversal of all downstream decisions.
  • Third-party limits remain visible.
  • Temporal adequacy is not database replication time.
  • Corrective latency is an observed interval, not a predictive equation.

SSRN record: Its public SSRN record is not yet available. A link will be added when the abstract page is live.

Evidence status: Conceptual governance analysis. It reports no empirical result. The related experimental program is in design (see Research).

The Problem

An accepted correction can still fail to reach every reliance path that depends on the state it corrected.

What This Work Contributes

Distinguishes accepted correction from effective correction and proposes temporal adequacy as a risk-bounded test of whether human authority over consequential personal state still reaches the materially consequential reliance paths that remain, across a validity → effectiveness → invalidation → revalidation → retirement → remedy lifecycle.

How the Argument Works

A conceptual governance analysis. It reports no empirical result; the related experimental program is in design (see Research).

Evidence Status

Evidence status: Conceptual governance analysis; no empirical result.
